A longer stay starts with better questions.
A place that works for a weekend may feel different after a month. Before settling in, look at the daily routine the property will need to support.
Ask about the full monthly cost.
Request a written breakdown of the rate, deposit, utilities, internet, cleaning and any other charges. Ask which costs are included, which are variable, and how they are calculated. A headline monthly rate tells you less than the total you will actually pay.
Test the routines that matter to you.
If you work remotely, ask about the workspace, power supply and internet reliability. If you cook regularly, confirm which appliances, utensils and storage are available. Ask about laundry, access hours and the surroundings at the times you will use the property.
Understand the agreement before paying.
Discuss minimum stay length, renewal, notice periods, early departure and deposit return. Request a written agreement from the provider and make sure you know who is responsible for maintenance. Keep a copy of the terms you accept.
Look beyond the room.
Consider transport, everyday shopping, parking and access to the places you need to visit. Ask the owner about noise, shared spaces and house rules. Where possible, arrange a viewing or a live video walkthrough before committing to an extended stay.
Make your enquiry specific.
Share your proposed dates, expected stay length and the practical requirements that are essential for you. A clear enquiry helps the owner confirm whether their property is suitable and provide a useful quote.
